Write in Plain Language
College of Medicine content authors should use plain language as much as possible, and web content should be as straightforward as possible.
Follow these simple tips to make your content easier to read:
Use short sentences and paragraphs.
Avoid internal department jargon and acronyms.
Use active voice, especially when instructing on how to obtain a service or complete a task. For example, “The dean held a student input meeting.” NOT “A student input meeting was held by the dean.”
