Affiliations

As a community-based medical school, the College of Medicine Peoria has affiliation agreements with most of the health systems and clinics in the Peoria/central Illinois area where medical students, residents and/or fellows gain clinical experience under the guidance of faculty. Affiliation agreements also exist regionally, statewide, nationally and even internationally. These agreements allow students to have clinical experiences in a variety of settings and some allow for the exchange of students from around the world.

Anatomage Table

This anatomy visualization system is in the Virtual Anatomy Lab on campus and allows students to supplement their anatomy learning. This high-tech tool supplements traditional training in the Gross Anatomy Laboratory.

AWG – Administrative Work Group

This is group of senior leaders of the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria serves as an advisory group to the Peoria Regional Campus Dean

Carle Atrium Building

Located at 900 Main Street, Peoria; home to the UICOMP Department of Psychiatry Department as well as the Psychiatry and Psychology Outpatient Center as well as the UICOMP Center for Wellbeing.

Center 4 Health Research

A UICOMP-based center that focuses on four areas of research (population health, health equity, outcomes, and informatics) by partnering with local health organizations to better understand patient needs, identify barriers to care, and implementing solutions to elevate the overall health and wellness of our community.

Dean’s Advisory Council

This group of community and business leaders provide insight and serve in an advisory capacity to the Peoria regional campus dean and are advocates of the University of Illinois College of Medicine within the central Illinois community.

Department of Health Sciences Education and Pathology

The department is made up of educators with a focus on providing the Phase 1 teaching curriculum for our medical students. The primary purpose of the Department of Health Sciences Education is to provide healthcare instruction to medical students, however, their role has expanded to include various types of learners focused on community health and education. Research to complement the educational and community service efforts will focus on studying health care education and community health.

Doctoring and Clinical Skills (DoCS)

This course is part of the Phase 1 curriculum.

Equity Innovation Medicine (EquIMED)

Specific to the Peoria Regional Campus, this is a longitudinal four-year elective offering medical students the opportunity to experience health care and health care delivery models in low resource settings.

Jump Trading Simulation and Education Center

Is a collaborative effort between OSF HealthCare and UICOMP located at 1306 N Berkeley Ave., Peoria. Jump is an international leader in simulation and innovation and is a cornerstone of the education and training experiences for UICOMP learners with the Jump virtual hospital, simulated ambulatory clinic, regional transport center, and innovation labs. Jump replicates all areas of patient care, using real medical equipment, standardized participants, and the latest in simulation technology.

Library of the Health Sciences - Peoria

Serves the students, faculty and staff of UICOMP and is open to the public.

North Building

Home to the UICOMP departments and residency/fellowship programs that are offered in affiliation with OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. This building is located at 530 NE Glen Oak Avenue, Peoria, IL 61637.

OSF Saint Francis Medical Center

A clinical affiliate and major teaching site located in Peoria, note that it should be referenced as indicated here. Saint should not be abbreviated as “St.” but instead should be spelled out as a word.

Carle Health Methodist – a clinical affiliate and major teaching site for University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria

OSF/UICOMP Clinic on Knoxville Ave.

This location is home to University Pediatrics and the Pediatric Resource Center. (The location was formerly Cub Foods. Do not refer to it as “the old Cub Foods.”)

Pediatric Resource Center (PRC)

Within the Department of Pediatrics

Positive Health Solutions (PHS)

Provides medical and case management services for persons living with HIV/AIDS and provides primary medical care for the LGBTQ+ community. The clinical location is at 222 NE Monroe St., Peoria, on the 9th floor. (within the Department of Internal Medicine)

Rager Clinical Skills Lab

Located on the second floor of UICOMP, this area is designed similarly to a medical office with exam rooms and is used to teach clinical skills to students in the medical curriculum

Rural Student Physician Program (RSPP)

Specific to the Peoria Regional Campus, this is a longitudinal, integrated clerkship that provides third-year medical students an immersive clinical community-based experience. Student spend 24 weeks in a rural community learning one-on-one with physician mentors.

UICOMP Family and Community Medicine

Located at 815 Main Street, Peoria; home to family medicine clinic and the UICOMP family medicine residency program and family medicine obstetrics fellowship.
